    I hope you’re all doing well! I’d like to share a bit of a rant…

    I still believe that modern dating is ultimately about love. The real challenge, however, is that our collective priorities have been out of whack for some time. That makes it harder for like-minded people to find each other.

    Take a ride on the New York City subway, and you’ll see what I mean: roughly 90% of riders have their faces buried in their phones, more concerned with screens than with the fellow human sitting next to them. When five people look at their phones, the next five do the same—and before you know it, the entire car is populated by people who look programmed, not human.

    We barely interact with one another anymore—even on dating apps. Most people browse profiles, swipe, and leave without so much as a “hello.” And when someone does reach out, the response is often, “Sorry, I’m not interested.” But all I did was say “hi.” I never implied anything beyond that. I believe that high expectations plus an illusion of endless options only perpetuates singleness.

    Am I missing anything? What else do you think contributes to our disconnected dating culture?
