Mainstream dating websites are big business. They are designed to make you stay on them for as long as possible and during that process make money from you. They promoted the jabs throughout 2021 and superimposed an “I’ve got my jab” graphic on their users’ photos.
If you register with a couple of dating apps, you could easily end up spending hundreds of dollars. Asking people if they are jabbed is awkward and may seem a little odd now the “pandemic” is distant history.
At various points in time they got a bad reputation. Your subscription had just expired. Then you get a message. You sign up for another month. You hear nothing back. What just happened?
This website was free to use for the first fifteen months of its existence. We got a trickle of two to five users registering per day. People emailed us to say there was nobody in their city. We now charge a small annual free for the ability to send other members messages. However replying to messages already sent to you is free. After the subscription period expires, we will not automatically bill you again.
We didn’t want to just have a website, we wanted it to actually work. To date, we have paid for advertising on five different occasions. Two of our advertisements are pending publication. The first two were in one specific country. Given people from that country are now over-represented on our site in comparison to other countries, the adverts obviously worked well to bring in hundreds of new users. The fact we are paying for advertising is one of the reasons we can’t be a free website anymore. That free app or website you are using with millions of other users will cost its owners a fortune in Internet hosting bills. These apps are funded by billionaries, the stock market (this means your pension funds), advertising and government.
Whether people find our website is dependent on the vagaries of search engines. On Yandex, we are near the top of their search results for certain terms. On mainstream search engines known through the USA and Western Europe, we rank much lower or not at all. We have recently tried to make our website more search engine friendly.
Unless people know to enter unjabbed as one of the search terms they probably won’t find our website. This is why we paid for advertising. Having an income from charging people to send messages will help pay for this.
Our website has the following features:
- A low-cost annual fee in order to send messages. Replying to messages sent to you by other people is free. When your subscription expires, you will not be automatically billed again.
- If you pay for a subscription, you can add your photos to a Private Gallery (at the bottom of Edit My Profile). These photos are only shown to people you specifically approve first by clicking the My Gallery button on the bottom of their profile. The button turns green to indicate you have given your permission.
- You can delete all your photos, messages, comments and forum posts instantly using functionality under My Account. Any messages you have sent will be also deleted in the recipient’s inbox as well.
- We do not use CAPTCHAs (picture puzzles to prove you are not a robot/spam-bot) given out free by large social media and search engine companies, as they can upload your browser history to their provider.
