We have previously advertised in the Canadian newspaper Druthers which has bought in hundreds of new users.
We would now like to bring in more unvaccinated users from the USA and possibly Europe. From social media and search engines, we get a trickle of a few new users every day. We would like to speed that up.
Please tell us if you know of any good websites with a decent sized audience who would display our adverts. At the time of writing, our website is mostly free to use and so our budget is limited.
Some websites accept advertisements but charge for impressions (each time an advert is displayed on a web page viewed by a user) rather than actual clicks on adverts. We would like to avoid these websites.

In reply to Sax, we have e-mailed a large number of alternative news websites. Most of them do not reply to us, even when we are informed half the journalists avoided the jab.

For Phoenix you may want to try https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/advertise/ but I would do the print option rather than digital which will get buried. This paper is like the New York’s Village Voice. Alternative. And maybe the back page advert might be enough of a push to get this going in this city.

In reply to Creative4577:
I’ve been running this site since March 2023. I have to say now, the limiting factor for advertisements is the fact only a minority of people here pay for membership. Every few days people tell me this site should be free or write in their public profiles they expect other people to send them messages first (and as such pay for the membership). This is how things fail. People who constantly fail to write anything about themselves in their profiles make the matter worse. They are “read-only” users to use a computer term. Blank profiles ensure that nobody pays for membership and the next intake of members will delete their accounts. Yes, privacy is a concern but there are ways around anything. Upload a photo of yourself wearing sunglasses and a hat. Or take it from a oblique angle. Or from behind. Or just provide photos of your city and, of course, ones not near your home.
Even when yearly membership was only $10 USD a year, most people did not pay. If only more Canadian members paid, we could have had regular adverts in Druthers. I can’t do everything myself.
I have made a request to the Phoenix New Times for a media-kit. That will hopefully give me more details about advertisements, I can’t find any prices on their website.
I’ve just spent thousands of dollars on X.com adverts for Western Europe and Scandinavia. Money does not grow on trees.
In the past advertisements have barely broken even or have been catastrophic losses!
These are just numbers taken out of the air, but an advert may only bring in ten new members. Maybe one of those ten will pay for membership. That means even a cheap advert will lose money. Our prices are twelve times cheaper than mainstream dating sites at the time of writing.
Advertising is difficult for under-populated areas on this site. From past experience, people register, see only a few people from their region and age range and then delete their accounts the same day telling us there is nobody around. This makes advertising even more expensive. If people waited longer they would actually get to meet each other. People who leave their profiles blank make paying for adverts pointless. People will see blank profiles, think badly of this site and then delete their accounts the same day. I always hoped this site would be a cooperative affair.
