Approximately 10% of new registrations have no photographs, nor a written profile description.

There is nothing wrong with this in itself, but if this becomes out-of-hand then our whole website will become unusable. People need talking points as a prerequisite to messaging each other. Members of this site have told us they will not contact those without written descriptions and photos. Scrolling through a list of users with no photos is dull.

We understand people are concerned about their privacy.

    • If you don’t want to upload a photograph of yourself, you can easily use a photo of flowers, trees or a church at the opposite end of your city. This will make the whole website brighter.
    • As an alternative you can upload a photo of yourself wearing sunglasses and a hat. This will allow other people to get a hint of what you look like without adversely affecting your privacy.
    • It should be possible to write a short paragraph about yourself without giving any specifics to greatly narrow things down. To appear under New Entrants or Featured Profiles your description has to be over 40 characters.
    • If you pay for a subscription (membership) you have use of a Private Gallery. This allows you to upload photos to your Private Gallery (found at the bottom of Edit My Profile). These photos are only shown to people you approve first, by clicking the My Gallery button at the bottom of their profile. This will have the added benefit of sending us funds to pay for our website hosting.

Like most of the websites in this genre, we don’t have the funds for large advertising campaigns. We are still seeing people register with this website, stay for a few days and then delete their account. If you are concerned about leaving personal details on a website for long periods of time, perhaps you should follow the advice given above. We have noticed it can take a few months before people from the same city register with our website and so being patient is the key.

In the past week we have started to charge a small annual fee (we will not bill you again at the end of the subscription period) for messaging. Hopefully this will allow us to have some money left over to pay for advertising. There are many alternative websites with good content and larger readerships. It is a pity not to try to take more advantage of these resources.
