Reject REAL ID (national federal id)

The urgent push for REAL ID, what it is, why do they really want everyone to comply, and threatening all that they will not be able to fly domestically without REAL ID starting May 7 2025.

 

• So called “enhanced ID’s, are REAL ID compliant and will serve the same purposes

• What does REAL stand for?  Why is it in all caps?  I haven’t found an answer for this yet.

• No type of ID is or will be required for people under 18 to fly domestically, atleast if they are flying with a companion who has a REAL ID. Doesn’t that defeat the stated purpose of eliminating threats of terrorism, if they are not going to require it for those under 18?

• REAL ID will not even give you the ability to cross into Mexico or Canada, you will still need your passport. So there is no incentive in that aspect either. It cannot be used for internation travel whether by air or sea.

• Passports will continue to be accepted for all flights foreign and domestic. So why is there a push for these REAL ID’s?

• All people will be charged an additional fee to get a REAL ID, even though the federal government, dmv, airlines, are all pushing it and telling us we must get it if we want to travel domestically by air.  If the government is requiring some kind of ID, they should be paying for it.  It is an additional tax, making us pay them to have the power to track us and take away our rights even more.

• DHS claims it is not creating a national database of everyone’s personal and identifying information. This is false. It is making a system which forces all states to allow all other states access to all info stored on every person, which the federal government also will be able to access, hence why they want everyone to have it, starting by requiring it for even domestic flights. But not international flights. I thought the greatest threats of terrorism originate from outside the country based on almost all messaging, narratives ans propaganda and laws created by the government since 9/11?  The REAL ID agenda and laws would create a national database and sharing of all personal information that the federal government and every state can access regardless of which state a person lives and holds a license within.

• Newer drivers licenses which are not a REAL ID, will say on the card, “not for REAL ID purposes”. What then, are the purposes, if it is not simply having a legitimate form of ID?

• It will result in more and more tracking abilities and rob people of even more privacy than we have currently, and will include facial recognition and profiles. They have never allowed people to wear a hat for drivers license pictures. The fact they will allow head coverings which even cover the ears, proves that they are using facial recognition which only needs the face now and not entire head.  “The REAL ID regulatory standards for the digital photograph recognize that some individuals may wear head coverings for religious or other reasons. However, such coverings should not obscure an applicant’s facial features or generate a shadow. For purposes of the photograph, the face should be visible from the hairline to the chin and forward of the ears, and be free of shadows. The REAL ID regulation does not require the exposure of the hair line or the ears.”

• It grants the secretary of homeland security, whoever it may be at any time, who is also a political appointee and not elected, the power to expand the “official purposes”, any required uses, in more places, in more situations. And if they can’t or don’t make a law requiring citizens to show the REAL ID or enhanced drivers license for various things, they can require businesses to require customers to show the REAL ID if the customer wishes to buy products or be served. Just as the ATF performs sting operations on stores on the matter of customers showing state id to prove they are over 21 for buying alcohol. The laws on some states such as virginia do not actually require citizens to show id to prove age to buy alcohol. But in real life, everyone is required by business policies to show id, but only because of the pressure exerted on them by the federal government to prove age of every buyer or face hefty fines and possibly even jail time. They have arrested young cashiers for failing to require a state issued drivers license or id. The federal government could do the same exact thing in society by pressuring businesses to always require REAL ID from all customers, or deny to sell to or serve them, even if the laws do not require citizens to have or show or surrender for any amount of time, and especially not to allow to scan, a REAL ID or enhanced drivers licence which complies and serves the REAL ID official purposes by federal government.

• “Noncitizens lawfully admitted for permanent or temporary residence, noncitizens with conditional permanent resident status, noncitizens with an approved application for asylum, and noncitizens who have entered the United States as refugees are eligible for a full-term REAL ID license or identification card.”

Because they want to track and record everyone more and more, of course they will give it to non citizens.

• States drivers licenses have been the legitimate form of ID which the federal government has always respected and required, even if they issue special ID for military or other employees. It is perfectly acceptable for airports. But starting May 7, they say they will no longer allow anyone to fly domestically unless they show a passport or the new REAL ID. They are trying to force this by going against our rights to travel, which is already so restrictive and obnoxious enough already with flying.

If you wanted to buy a firearm, or alcohol or tobbaco, no store will accept a birth certificate, even if you clearly look over 21, and even though you got a license by showing your birth certificate which has no picture.  But they will accept state issued ID with picture.  And they require it to comply with federal laws.  The federal government has considered state licenses to be completely legitimate and satisfactory for as long as it has been required to show ID.  But suddenly it no longer will be enough or legitimate starting on May 7 2025?  Was it not actually legitimate for the many years up to now, and was there no reason to even show your drivers license to anyone?  Was the federal government requiring businesses and airports to require a illegitimate form of ID to comply with federal laws?

If everyone complies at the threat of not being allowed to travel by flying, which is a common right of the people, then the government will know that the people are ready to give up their right, and that enough people believe it is a government granted privilege, and they will comply with new requirements and give the government more power over their lives. It will not end here.  The functions and powers and required uses of the REAL ID, a national federal ID, will expand further and further.

Enough people must not comply.  And if people will stop flying, that will result in massive losses in profit for all airlines, and therefore the federal government, which will place the kind of pressure necessary onto the federal government to force them to drop this, for a while longer at least.  Because they will lose too much money.

TAKE ACTION: Ask Congress to use its time-limited Congressional Review Act (CRA) authority to force the TSA “progressive enforcement” rule to be withdrawn.”
