Fake profiles

From March 2023 to July 2024, this website was free to use. Currently we require a small payment in order to send the first message to another member. However replying to messages sent to you is free.

When we were a free website, anybody could join and send messages without the intermediate step of making a payment to us.

In 2023, our website was mentioned on the video sharing site BrandNewTube (now onevsp.com) and we had a small influx of members as a result. A few months later one of these people told us he was sent a message by a woman, who asked him to communicate directly with her email address. When he did so, she asked if he wanted to purchase her photographs. He was very disappointed. Obviously we deleted her account here.

The English version of our blog states where we have paid for advertisements. We pick news websites and newspapers we think publish articles which makes it very likely they will have a decent proportion of readers who declined covid vaccines. In addition we sometimes advertise on Twitter (X.com) and target the followers of accounts highlighting natural health.

In the last week, we noticed a new account on our system and it was obviously fake even by simple inspection of the written description and photograph. We deleted it. We don’t know if it was a deliberate test for us or whether it was the result of massive incompetence.

If you spot something amiss please contact us and we will address the problem. You will be helping us and everyone on this site.

Please don’t be offended if we contact you and ask for further confirmation if your profile here is genuine. Fake profiles hurt everyone and by responding you will help make this website better for everyone. It could just be one tiny aspect of your account has something in common with one we saw a month ago which was fake. It is not any kind of judgement on you and we do apologise for any intrusion.

Back in 2023, one man wished to relocate to another country. He created one main profile which looked real, but in the preceding months had created multiple other profiles, with each one said to be in a different city and country. We contacted him to enquire why he had created six different accounts on our system. He told us he was in the process of changing the cities! Providing false information about your location and creating multiple accounts are valid reasons for us to delete your account. We deleted all his accounts and told him not to use our website again. He continued to make new accounts, which we deleted. Eventually he gave up. Whenever someone does something like this, it takes time away from productive work.

Within a few months of starting this website, a couple of members informed us there weren’t many people on this website and that we should pay for advertising. We paid for three adverts in a Canadian newspaper with a good monthly distribution in the hundreds of thousands. The adverts worked well. Canadians are over-represented on our website compared to the United States, when their relative population sizes are taken into consideration. At this time we were in a strange situation. We were paying for advertisements, while still being a free website. We had hoped people would see our genuine effort and support us. One woman joined our website and used our functionality to advertise her meeting group for unvaccinated people. At the very least she should have offered to share in our advertising costs! Eventually our members told us what was going on and we deleted her account. This illustrates the problems of running free social media sites. There is absolutely no barrier to stop abuse.
