At the time of writing we have over 1700 members on this website. A few female users have told us that they have received some messages from men without real photos of themselves, without a written profile description, in a different geographic area and in a different age range. Note the accounts typically had all of the described problems. Currently this problem is a minor one affecting very few users. Please consider it is difficult to reply to a message when the profile of the sender is blank to all extents and purposes.

We are currently considering the some of the below.

• Delete the relevant accounts.
• Block messaging capability for the affected accounts until the problems have been rectified.
• Switch from being a partially free website into a wholly paid one.
• Make messaging free for women. Men have to purchase a subscription first.

The last option is not ideal as is means a very small number of users will end up influencing how the site works.

Although this is the Internet, don’t say anything in a message that you wouldn’t say in real life, especially when contacting a person for the first time.
