Another two requests this week to make this site free

We had another two requests this week for the ability to send messages for free, despite the fact our site is over twelve times cheaper than comparable ones. Our cost for a whole year is currently lower than other sites charge for a single month. We were a totally free site from March 2023 to July 2024. Low-cost independent dating websites benefit everyone. Mainstream dating sites have made finding someone a drawn-out game of trying to get double-matches and all the time spending money on bundles of messages and search result boosts.

It is important to distinguish between small, independent websites and the vast majority of mainstream apps and social media websites you are accustomed to. The latter have access to vast sums of money from billionaires, the stock market, advertising, university grants and government. We don’t. Did any of these billionaires put on the top of every one of their web pages some advice about vaccination back in 2021?

We think it is better the cost of running this site is spread between its members, rather than having a small number of people pay out thousands of dollars of their own money. The main costs of this website are online advertising, rather than Internet hosting and associated costs.

Some countries on this site are better represented than others. The main factor is access to newspapers and websites which will run our adverts at a reasonable price.

Only one person has proposed distributing our adverts on public noticeboards in return for a free subscription. Our adverts can be downloaded here. Online advertising is expensive.

It is important to realise the more people pay for subscriptions, the more money we have to pay for online advertising, which brings in new members.

At the time of writing, we are advertising this site on Twitter (now x.com) and seeing new members register here because of it. The whole point of this site is to enable people to find others in their city. Twitter has half a billion members who are active on the site every month. Obtaining funds for advertising is slow because only a fraction of members here pay for a subscription.
